Score your buck

Enter the measurements from your sheet — your score calculates as you go, then lands on the big board.

County

Where did your buck come from? This is where your dot lands on the Texas map.

Number of Points (Count) A

To count as a point, a projection must be at least 1 inch long and longer than it is wide at one inch or more of length. The tip of each main beam counts as a point. Count the right and left antlers separately.

Spread

Measure all spreads at the widest point, perpendicular to the center of the skull. Tip-to-Tip Spread (B-1) is between the main beam tips. Greatest Spread (B-2) is the widest point of the rack. Inside Spread of Main Beams (C) is the widest distance between the main beams — its credit may equal, but not exceed, the length of the longer main beam.

Abnormal Points E (sum)

Abnormal points originate from a normal point, the main beam, or another abnormal point — or are otherwise atypical in location. Measure each along its outer curve from base to tip, recording the right and left antlers separately. On typical entries the total is deducted from the net score; on non-typical entries it is added to the gross.
